Little Giants fan devastated about missed foul ball

I’ve loved going to baseball games for as long as I can remember, and it’s even more exciting when you’re a kid.

Why? Well, how about the idea of catching a foul ball hit by one of your favorite players? As a youngster, the idea of going to Yankee Stadium and catching one off the bat of someone like Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams or any other Bronx Bomber was a prospect that kept me on my toes every time a foul ball was hit towards my section.

But sometimes excitement takes over, causing mental mistakes, and that’s what a young San Francisco Giants fan learned the hard way yesterday when the team took on the St. Louis Cardinals. As was reported by USA TODAY, the boy caught a ball fouled into the stands by Gregor Blanco, only to develop a sudden case of butterfingers and drop the ball. It rolled under his seat and was picked up by a young lady sitting behind him.

As much as it hurts, allow me to offer the kid some sage advice.

Keep your chin up, buddy. There will be plenty more opportunities for you to right the error, so don’t let it get you down!
