Under Urban Meyer’s microscope is a double quarterback system with J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones which will be in effect for a large percentage of the season. Supporting the duo will be Heisman Trophy candidate Ezekiel Elliott, who recently filed half a dozen patents, including one for “in crop we trust.”
Ohio State welcomes the new season this weekend against an opponent that was responsible for the Buckeyes’ only loss last year, Virginia Tech.
Although nearly synchronized in every category in that loss, including turnovers at three apiece, Virginia Tech clicked on both sides of the ball. Tech defensive back, Donovan Riley, capped off a pick-six, while Tech leaned on four offensive touchdowns.
