Clemson DC: I like people who like to rip people’s faces off

|

Life as an assistant coach at a high profile school can be very stressful at times. It literally is a year around job when you consider how much work goes into recruiting and finding the right guys to fit your system.

Yesterday, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables sat down with tigernet.com and spoke about the type of defenders he wants in Death Valley.

“I’m not a big swagger guy,” Venables said. “I like people who like to rip people’s faces off. So, if you want to call that swagger. I’ve seen too many guys swagger without the play behind it. So beating their chest and making some ordinary basic fundamental play that I could get a circus monkey to do.”

Wow! What an intense guy.  You can listen to the interview in its entirety below.

Clemson will open the year against the Wofford Terriers on Saturday, Sept. 5. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30pm ET.
