Connor Mitch won the South Carolina Gamecocks’ starting quarterback job this offseason and ge is making Steve Spurrier happy about his decision early on.
North Carolina jumped out to a 7-0 lead quickly on a 21-yard pass from Marquise Williams to Bug Williams, but Mitch and South Carolina answered quickly.
After a very impressive drive by the Gamecocks, Mitch dropped back and fired his first career touchdown pass to wide receiver Pharoh Cooper. If this is a sign of things to come, South Carolina fans should be very excited about their 2015 season.
Mitch started off the game 0-for-5, but has since gone 3-of-3 for 45 yards and the score.
