5-star DE Marlon Davidson picks Auburn over ‘Bama

Class of 2016 five-star defensive end Marlon Davidson, out of Alabama’s Greenville High School, near Montgomery, has committed to the Auburn Tigers over the Alabama Crimson Tide. Doug Gooden of WSFA 12 reported Davidson’s decision on Twitter.

Davidson had also drawn interest from a number of schools including Clemson, Louisville, Georgia, LSU and Oregon, among many others. Instead, he will stay in-state and play for a Tigers team that is prepared to make a lot of noise in the SEC in the coming years. Davidson’s commitment gives the program 13 commitments for 2016 and the No. 22 class in the country for the same year.

Just what Davidson’s immediate role on the team will be remains to be seen, but the fact remains that he is an incredible talent whose future becomes all the brighter playing for Auburn.
