The Iowa Hawkeyes are hoping to surprise some people in the Big Ten and compete with the best teams in the conference. It isn’t going to be easy, but a lot of their chances hinge on just how good junior quarterback C.J. Beathard can be throughout the course of the season.
Beathard certainly opened the season well against Illinois State this afternoon, scoring Iowa’s first 2015 touchdown on a six-yard quarterback keeper. He is capable of making plays with either his legs or arm and put together a very solid first drive. During the drive, Beathard completed all five of his passes for 34 yards and rushed two times for eight yards and a touchdown.
Check out Iowa’s first touchdown of the season and expect to see quite a few more this afternoon.
