After the Miami Hurricanes easily beat Bethune-Cookman 45-0 last night, coach Al Golden took some time to recognize sophomore offensive lineman Hunter Knighton. After suffering heat stroke in February of last year, Knighton ended up in a coma for 12 days and played in his first game yesterday.
As a result, Knighton was awarded the game ball by Golden, and the entire moment was caught on video.
It was a touching moment for all, so here’s hoping that Knighton is able to stay healthy and keep himself on the field after such a long road back.
Miami next faces Conference USA’s Florida Atlantic Owls on the 11th.
