Cardale Jones opened the game as the starting quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes and promptly led his team on a scoring drive. It was an impressive opening drive for Urban Meyer’s offense and Jones made it look easy.
Ohio State’s first touchdown of the season was an amazing 24-yard touchdown pass from Jones to wide receiver Curtis Samuel. Samuel made multiple adjustments with the football in the air and caught the pass despite pass interference being called on his defender. Jones couldn’t have started the game off better than he did.
Jones ended up completing three of his four passing attempts for 54 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 25 yards on his first drive.
