Sorry, folks, Metallica won’t be in Blacksburg tonight

Those who were getting excited about famed rock band Metallica playing the Virginia Tech Hokies’ new “Enter Sandman” entrance live at tonight’s season opener against Ohio State are in for some disappointment. According to AD Whit Babcock, the band will not be appearing live despite a great number of rumors that have said it would be.

.@vtmeg04 @VTSandsman Sorry Meg. No @metallica, That set up is for @espn for Monday Night. #maybeonedaythough #entersandman #hokies.

Even though Metallica won’t be appearing, fans shouldn’t need the band to get hyped for the game.

After all, the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes are coming to Blacksburg to play the one team that beat them last season, so the champs’ quest for revenge is bound to be a bit harder on the road.

With Lane Stadium bound to be packed to capacity, tonight’s game is certainly not one to be missed!
