Video: Virginia Tech takes lead on beautiful one-yard pass

Frank Beamer and the Virginia Tech Hokies knocked off Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes last season and were hoping to do it once again to start the 2015 season this evening. They got off to a slow start and went down 14-0, but regrouped and were able to come back and take a 17-14 lead into halftime.

Michael Brewer was able to make quite a few plays for his team down the stretch of the first half, including a beautiful one-yard touchdown pass to his tight end Ryan Malleck.

Both teams have had their ups and downs this evening and the game is far from over. This is the game of the week for the first week of college football and it certainly isn’t disappointing. Virginia Tech has nothing to lose, while the pressure is completely on the No. 1 ranked Buckeyes heading to the second half.

Check out the one-yard touchdown play that gave the Hokies the lead heading into halftime.
