Watch Virginia Tech’s epic ‘Enter Sandman’ entrance

For some reason, Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” just seems like the most popular entrance song for anything sports related.

From former ECW Champion The Sandman’s beer-swilling, cigarette-smoking entrance through the rowdy Philadelphia wrestling crowd to former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera striding his way from the bullpen to the mound, the most iconic metal band of all time can be heard all over the sporting world.

Over the last few years, the Virginia Tech Hokies have been entering the field to that song and their entrance for Monday’s game against Ohio State felt extra eerie and bone-chilling.

Watch this video that was shared Monday night where the crowd erupts as the first guitar chord echoes throughout Lane Stadium.

What a way to kickoff the night for the Virginia Tech faithful. It seems to be working right now as the Hokies have the defending national champions on the ropes. They only trail the Buckeyes 14-10 late in the first half and have the ball in Ohio State territory.

Start jumpin’ Hokie Nation.
