Stephen Colbert Late Show debuts, nothing has changed

Those who were worried about Stephen Colbert leaving “The Colbert Report” to take over for David Letterman as host of “The Late Show” can now breathe a sigh of relief. Though his material is not as politically focused as his first show, the snarky and lovable character that we all fell in love with still exists!

Colbert debuted last night to thunderous applause and chants of “Ste-PHEN! Ste-PHEN!” before launching into his opening monologue. Tackling everything from Ashley Madison to now defunct CBS show “The Mentalist,” the man was an absolute rock star and acted as though this was just another day at the office for him.

Needless to say, as much as we’re all sure to miss Letterman, Colbert will surely provide plenty of laughs for us for years to come!
