The Baylor Bears ought to be lucky that their non-conference schedule isn’t very tough. In their opening game against SMU last week, the team was without star defensive end Shawn Oakman after he was suspended for a violation of team rules.
The team will now be without one of their starting linebackers for this week’s game against FCS team Lamar.
According to College Football Talk, linebacker Taylor Young injured his shoulder and he will not be able to play on Saturday, coach Art Briles confirmed.
Briles says Taylor Young won't play this week but should be ready for Rice. Suffered AC joint injury vs. SMU.

Young recorded two tackles in the team’s dominant 56-21 win over SMU last week. Luckily, the Bears have another decent player in Aiavion Edwards to take the 2014 Freshman All-American’s spot and they aren’t playing a major program.
Let’s hope that the Bears can stay healthy throughout the next few games as they transition into Big 12 conference play.
