It was pretty clear who Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer was going with at the quarterback position on Monday when the Buckeyes took the field against Virginia Tech. Cardale Jones was the starter for most of the night and J.T. Barrett only saw action when the game was well in the hands of the defending national champions late in the third quarter.
However, Urban Meyer seems to be still planning on using both Jones and Barrett when the Buckeyes welcome in the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors to Columbus this Saturday.
Meyer was rather vague in his comments regarding the quarterback situation.
Meyer on if Cardale Jones is the starter and J.T. Barrett is the backup: “No."

Coach Meyer says he knows who will be starting at QB this Saturday, but wouldn't say if it would either be JT or Cardale.

I think Urban Meyer said "I don't know" three times when talking about Cardale Jones being Ohio State's starter.

This looks like it could be a running trend throughout the course of the season, but Meyer could be waiting until Big Ten conference play kicks off in a few weeks to truly name a starting quarterback. Either way, Meyer has a set of two very talented quarterbacks who have proven they can lead a team the caliber of Ohio State.
The Buckeyes play the Rainbow Warriors on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and the game can be seen on Big Ten Network.
