Utah Utes to honor 9/11 victims with helmet decal

The Utah Utes will be hosting the rival Utah State Aggies on Friday night. With the game falling on the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attack on New York City and the Twin Towers, the Utes will be honoring the fallen victims.

Utah tweeted out a photo of special helmet decals they will be wearing on the back of their helmet for the game.

The decal features the Twin Towers inside of a pentagon to pay tribute to the attack in Washington D.C. Inside of the pentagon is an American flag, with a banner that reads, “Never Forget.”

Underneath that decal, Utah’s helmets feature another sign of remembrance with a giant 9/11.

Check it out.

That’s a very great tribute and reminder for us all to never forget that tragic day.

Utah and Utah State are set to kick off at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN 2.
