Tennessee’s rock features painting of mascot Smokey

The rock on Tennessee’s campus is easily one of the most recognizable landmarks in the entire SEC. It has been vandalized multiple times by rival opponents as well as being painted by students to recognize some of the biggest parts of the Volunteers’ program.

Another recognizable staple in Knoxville is Smokey, the team’s blue-tick hound that spends his time on the sideline of the games. College Spun shared a picture of an amazing mural of Smokey that Tennessee student Payton Marie Miller painted on the rock.

That takes some pure talent right there. The official Twitter account of the rock loved its new colorful scheme.

This is probably going to be one of the more long-standing pictures to appear on the rock. The Volunteers kick off their Top 25 match-up against the Oklahoma Sooners at 6 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPN.
