Ameer Abdullah rushes for his first career NFL TD

Have no fear, Detroit Lions fans, Ameer Abdullah is here!

The Detroit Lions kicked off at Qualcomm Stadium against the San Diego Chargers and while Detroit’s first offense was on the field, Ameer capitalized on a third-and-one scenario at the 30-yard line.

A former Cornhusker, who recorded 4,588 yards and 39 touchdowns in his collegiate career, turned some heads in the preseason and reminded opposing NFL teams and fans alike that his legs aren’t burnt out.

In his first rush of his infant NFL career as a Detroit Lion, Ameer Abdullah went practically untouched as he rushed up the middle for a 24-yard touchdown, putting the Lions up 7-0.

Given the success and the elusive lightness in his feet, Abdullah is likely to be a frontrunner for long yard situations, as well as numerous goal line opportunities to come.
