Destined to be an upset after Malik Zaire was carted off the field after suffering a grueling ankle injury that cost him the season, the Virginia Cavaliers were snubbed by Zaire’s back-up, DeShone Kizer, who connected with Will Fuller for a nail biting, game-winning touchdown, handing the Fighting Irish a 34-27 win.

Fourth quarter was primarily dominated by the Cavaliers, who scored in the opening minutes and final seconds of the quarter, respectively, up until the laser by Kizer.
Despite the connection between UVA’s quarterback Matt Johns and wide receiver Canaan Severin, the Cavaliers would fall 12 seconds short just as when they smelled the sweet scent of victory.
And one fan? His team losing at home, but had a potential to upset a ranked opponent, was a stake to the heart.
