One of the more common nicknames among college athletic teams is the Wildcats, and a Redditor who calls themselves “burritoxman” just pointed out that all four teams on the FBS level with that name have gone undefeated thus far.
Those teams, of course, are Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas State and Northwestern.
This is quite the rarity, as Kentucky was not considered much of a football program in recent years, but has done well in its third season under Mark Stoops in defeating UL-Lafayette and SEC-rival South Carolina so far.
The same can be said for Big Ten staple Northwestern, a team that has been inconsistent at best under coach Pat Fitzgerald. Despite that, wins over Stanford and Eastern Illinois have the team looking to make some noise in 2015.
Arizona is looking great once again despite losing star linebacker Scooby Wright to a knee injury, and Kansas State has outscored opponents 64-3 over its first two games.
That said, if by any chance you wagered a prop bet that the most successful teams FBS-wide would be ones that have the Wildcat as their mascot, that’s looking like a pretty smart bet two weeks into the season!
