Kentucky head coach John Calipari was recently given one of the highest honors any person involved in sports can get. This past weekend, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The Wildcats also hosted an alumni game against former North Carolina players as well.
There were tons of former Kentucky stars on hand for the game, as expected. According to College Spun, the former and current players got together to honor Calipari by giving him a gift at halftime.
This is a pretty nice gesture by Calipari’s players. It’s also a great way to show that they appreciate all that he has done for the school’s program.
Calipari may have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, but he wants to show everyone that he isn’t done winning just yet. Winning another national championship would certainly do that.
The Wildcats open the 2015-16 season on November 13 when they host Albany.
