EMU wins first non-conference road game since 1988

The Eastern Michigan Eagles have never been known for being a very good football program. The team hasn’t had a winning season since 1989, when the team went 7-3-1 under Jim Harkema, while their last bowl appearance was in 1987, when they went 10-2 and won the California Bowl.

The team is currently sitting at 1-1 after a big win over the Wyoming Cowboys 48-29 on Saturday. Second year head coach Chris Creighton helped lead his team to a bit of history on Saturday as well.

According to EMU Eagles, his team won its first non-conference road game in 27 years.

Redshirt freshman running back Shaq Vann had a big game as he went for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Brogan Roback had a huge day for the Eagles as he went for 330 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

It was a big day for the Eagles and the future could really be big for the team. The Eagles next play at home against the Ball State Cardinals in their MAC opener.
