The problems just continue to mount up for Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo. It was announced yesterday that Carroo was suspended from the team indefinitely following his role in an altercation that occurred outside High Point Solutions Stadium following Rutgers’ loss to Washington State, and now it gets worse.
Per Ryan Dunleavy of the Asbury Park Press, Carroo was actually arrested and charged with simple assault under domestic violence following the incident, which does not bode well for Carroo’s future. In two games this season, Carroo has seven receptions for 181 yards and four touchdowns.
And the problems also continue to mount for Rutgers’ football program. Flood is still under investigation for alleged improper contact with a professor regarding a player’s eligibility, and Carroo is the seventh Rutgers player in the last three weeks to be arrested. Of those seven, four face aggravated assault charges and two face armed robbery charges following alleged home invasions from last spring.
Campus Sports will update Carroo’s case and status as the investigation surrounding him progresses.
