Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones fined $35,000 for bashing Amari Cooper’s head against helmet

The NFL has finally announced its punishment for Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones, who was involved in an incident during Week 1 involving Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Following a play, Jones ripped Cooper’s helmet off and then went on to bash the rookie pass catcher’s head against the helmet. The play drew a flag, but everyone knew more punishment would be coming Jones’ way for the unacceptable and egregious foul.

While Jones was not suspended for the play — which many argued he should be — he received a $35,000 fine from the league.

Geoff Hobson of the team’s official website confirmed the news.

Adam Jones I got fined 35,000. Will appeal

It is almost comical that Jones will appeal.

He is clearly caught on video performing an action that is nothing less than assault. Jones should feel lucky that he is only getting away with a slap on the wrist from the league.

For those who missed the play, check it out below and share your thoughts on what Jones’ punishment should have been.
