The new ad for EA Sports’ FIFA 16 is something else.
Ain’t nothing like the feeling of hearing a little of Rossini’s Figaro mixed with the sights of some sick soccer footwork from the best soccer player in the world, Lionel Messi. It almost makes you want to belt opera and your soccer footwork all day.
But then seeing Alex Morgan taking out a surly, bearded dude makes you want to sit back down, and Google lewd images of the Olympic gold medalist.
Fifteen seconds later, I found myself back in Lost in Translation trying to find Bill Murray in the Japanese Johnny Carson clip. But before your mind starts to boggle with all this awesomeness, Kobe Bryant shows up to wow you with a three-point footer .
Maybe he’s a FIFA fanatic like the rest of the world. Or maybe he’s just in love with Alex Morgan, too.
The less than two-minute clip has definitely got me anxiously awaiting my boyfriend’s purchase of FIFA 16 on Sept. 24. I might even surprise him by learning to play now that they have included Women’s National Teams in FIFA 16.
Way to expand the playing field, EA Sports. Now excuse me while I belt some more opera and hunt for a female inspired, bedazzled Xbox controller.
