Four-time NBA all-star Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder showed up on set to the Jimmy Kimmel Show to divulge his secret pregame activities: a maximum of a one hour nap (any longer makes him groggy) and a very particular peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Russell’s PB&J consists of Skippy peanut butter (I’m guessing smooth not crunchy), toasted wheat bread, strawberry jelly, and sometimes a bit of butter on the outside and inside – depending on his mood. Oh, and it must be cut in halves.
After eating his sandwich, he is sure to call his parents – concluding his pregame rituals.
He is not only a genius at creating the perfect peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches and being a star on the court; the point guard is also a fashion designer who recently launched his collection in Barney’s as of August of last year.
His original sense of style definitely shines through in his wardrobe on the Jimmy Kimmel set. The short overalls – with one strap cleverly unhooked – a backwards leather cap, and an oversized pair of spectacles were an interesting choice. He almost looked like a cross between Will Smith and Steve Urkel.
However, his genuine spirit could probably make anything look good. And how could you not love a guy who loves Taylor Swift? I bet she has some sandwich making skills up her sleeve…
