“I think he ran a premier program, if not the premier program in America.”
Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer had a lot of praise for former Buckeye head coach, Jim Tressel. Now the legendary coach will be honored at Ohio Stadium Saturday, as he enters this years Ohio State Athletic Hall of Fame.
“I always admired him”, added Meyer, who while at Florida beat Tressel and the Buckeyes 41-14 in the 2007 BCS National Championship game. Tressel, now the current president of Youngstown State University, has been honored by the Buckeyes two previous times since he left the University amid NCAA investigations in 2011; however expects a warm reception from the Buckeye faithful come Saturday afternoon.
During his tenure in Columbus, Tressel led the Buckeyes to a BCS National Championship, six Big 10 titles and 94 wins. Meyer, who already has a National title at Ohio State, is without a doubt following suit of one of his admirers.
