Class of 2016 four-star shooting guard Myles Powell, currently at Connecticut’s South Kent School, has committed to Seton Hall. The Trenton, New Jersey native announced his decision on his personal Twitter page.

A fine perimeter scorer despite being just 6-foot-1, Powell had also received offers from DePaul, UConn, VCU, St. Joseph’s, Georgetown, Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh.
He’ll instead head to his home state to play for a Pirates team that has gone 82-80 (30-60 Big East) in five years under coach Kevin Willard, but has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2006. Powell is the first 2016 commit and could immediately add a scoring pop to an offense desperate to make some noise in the Big East.
This could also mean Seton Hall has an advantage in landing Powell’s fellow New Jersey native in four-star guard Bryce Aiken, who is scheduled to make an official visit to the university this weekend. Stay tuned to Campus Sports for updates on that front!
Seton Hall opens the season against Dartmouth on November 13.
