Vernon Adams Jr. out vs Georgia State today

Earlier this week, it was reported that Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. had injured the index finger on his throwing hand. After he claimed he was a gametime decision for Saturday’s matchup with Georgia State, it was reported Saturday morning that he will not play in the game.

According to a report by Register Guard via 247Sports, Adams will sit out the game vs the Panthers as a precautionary method. If the reports are confirmed, Jeff Lockie will get his first career start.

Adams suffered the injury against his former team Eastern Washington in the season opener. Despite breaking his finger, he did play last week against Michigan State.

Most fans believe that this won’t affect the Ducks’ chances for winning today. It’s still going to be interesting to watch to see how the Ducks go about protecting Lockie in the game.

The Ducks take the field against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. and the game can be seen on PAC-12 Network.
