The Green Bay Packers improved to 2-0 and dropped the Seattle Seahawks to 0-2 in last night’s rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game, and Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers had some words about his team’s 27-17 victory as he spoke to reporters after the game.
This was obviously a shot at Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson’s crediting divine intervention for his team’s win in the NFC title game last season, and only the latest chapter in what his becoming a heated rivalry between both teams. Apart from last year’s NFC Championship Game, the Packers and Seahawks were the two teams involved in a controversial ending of a mere regular season game, and the rivalry grew from there.
Just how much Rodgers believes the man upstairs had to do with the game’s outcome is debatable, but let’s be honest. The Packers outplayed Seattle, especially in the fourth quarter. They wanted it more, and inconsistent play from Seattle’s defense is what sunk the defending NFC champs.
Green Bay will look to go 3-0 next week as it takes on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, while the Seahawks will seek their first win of the season when the Chicago Bears visit CenturyLink Field on Sunday.
