Shelley Meyer, the wife of Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer, was not too pleased with a sign that was being promoted during this weekend’s addition of ESPN’s College GameDay.
Often times, fans attempt to push the limit and see just how far they can take their signs, but one in particular rubbed some people the wrong way.
The sign featured a photo Auburn’s Gus Malzahn and read, “If This Keeps Up, I’m Gonna Fake A Heart Attack and Go Join The Big 10.”
It was a definite shot at Meyer and his health issues that led to a departure from Florida.

Shortly after the sign was tweeted out, Shelley directed a message of her own to the GameDay account.
@CollegeGameDay @pizzahut ok that's not funny AT ALL. VERY classless. I'm pretty shocked at you. #EnoughIsEnough #stopthehate

Meyer has every right to be upset with the sign.
Health issues — especially involving the heart — are no laughing matter. While it isn’t surprising to see college-age kids make an inappropriate joke, the folks at ESPN should have been aware enough to know the sign was in poor taste. Let’s hope they are more considerate next weekend.
