The Dallas Cowboys saw star quarterback Tony Romo go down with a broken left clavicle against the Philadelphia Eagles this past week. The initial timeline for recovery is eight to 12 weeks, so the Cowboys have decided to lace Romo on the IR/recall list.
He will be out until at least Week 11 and could potentially be held out a bit longer.
Tony Romo will be placed on injured reserve/designated to return list by Cowboys today, according to a source…. http://t.co/NOgtHwsRQv

Losing Romo is going to make things very interesting for the Cowboys moving forward. Brandon Weeden will take over the starting job for the time being.
Weeden played excellent for the Cowboys on Sunday after taking over for Romo; completing all seven of his pass attempts for 73 yards and a touchdown. The real question now is whether or not he can continue playing that well or if he is going to begin falling off rather quickly over the next couple of weeks.
No matter what ends up happening, the Cowboys are in a world of hurt right now. Dez Bryant is also out for a good chunk of time with a broken foot and there are varying reports on when he could return.
Romo will be back at some point this season, but this news is certainly tough to swallow for Cowboys’ fans. They looked so good throughout the first two weeks of the season, but all good things must come to an end at some point.
If Dallas can rebound without their starting quarterback and star receiver, they will prove that they are a legitimate contender in the NFC if they get their players back healthy for a playoff run.
