Tranquill’s emotional speech highlight’s this week’s ‘A Season with Notre Dame’

If Showtime’s goal is for its weekly “A Season with Notre Dame” to make you go through multiple boxes of Kleenex, then they are doing a damn good job.

And this week’s episode looks to be one that will surly overwork your tearducts.

This third installment of the series that follows the Fighting Irish highlights safety Drue Tranquill getting the game ball after being injured in their victory last Saturday over Georgia Tech. The teaser for the episode shows Tranquill’s speech to his teammates after the game.

Knowing now that Tranquill is out for the season and will undergo surgery, the moment tugs a bit harder at your heartstrings.

It’s sports emotion at its best–almost enought to make us forget that Showtime did that awful series following around the Miami Marlins a couple years back.

No, you’re crying.
