The Florida Gators seemed to have gotten on the right track as of late and they are looking to start off SEC play on a good note after beating Kentucky last week to get a 1-0 start. This week, they host the Tennessee Volunteers and everything seems to be going in their direction, but it looks like this team will be down a couple of key backups for the game.
Both quarterback Treon Harris and defensive back Jalen Tabor have been suspended for Saturday’s game for violation of university policy.
Will Grier has been performing rather well since he was named the outright starter in Week 2, but it would have been nice for him to have a proven backup like Harris to offer some relief.
McElwain says CB Jalen Tablor and QB Treon Harris “won’t be with us this week.”

It was reported earlier on Wednesday that Alex McCalister would also miss Saturday’s game, but head coach Jim McElwain confirmed those rumors to be false.

Tabor came in and provided some depth when star cornerback Vernon Hargreaves missed the East Carolina game with an injury. It should be interesting to see how this game plays out as the Gators come in down a few key depth chart players.
The begins at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and can be seen on CBS.
