Former Duke basketball star may have been drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this year, but he hasn’t forgotten his grassroots. He originally hails from Chicago, Illinois and he was back in his hometown to spend some time with his town’s baseball team, the Chicago Cubs.
According to College Spun, Okafor was asked to throw out the first pitch at the Cubs game as they welcomed in the Pittsburgh Pirates. Of course, he took the opportunity to show the fans that he still appreciates his hometown.

I’m sure Okafor did a great job tossing out the first pitch. We all know he has a pretty good grip on the ball considering his hands are large to hide it.

It looks like Okafor could have a career on the mound if the basketball thing doesn’t work out. I’m sure the Chicago fans do hope it works out for him though.
