Jets WR Eric Decker out today with knee injury

If the New York Jets want to beat the Philadelphia Eagles today and improve their record to 3-0 on the year, the team will have to do so without top receiver Eric Decker. Per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Decker, who sprained his PCL in Monday’s win against Indianapolis, will not play today but could be back next week.

This means that veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will likely lean on fellow veteran Brandon Marshall, who has caught 13 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns this season. Rookie Devin Smith could also see some snaps, especially since Chris Owusu had his knee scoped this week and is also out. New York could also rely on its tight ends to generate offense in the passing game, as running back Chris Ivory could be playing hurt.

Needless to say, Decker, who has 10 catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns so far, will be missed today no matter how leaky Philly’s secondary is.
