Former New York Yankees great and future Hall of Famer Derek Jeter was in attendance at the Big House yesterday for the Michigan-BYU game and did more than just watch a 31-0 Wolverines win and hang out with Jim Harbaugh. Jeter also hung out with Michigan men’s basketball coach John Beilein, with the meeting between both parties surfacing on Twitter.

Originally from Kalamazoo, Jeter retired at the end of the 2014 baseball season. He finished his career with five World Series rings, a .310 lifetime batting average and 3,465 career hits. Just how much he’ll be able to help Beilein with the basketball program is up for debate, but there’s no denying how much clout Jeter has in the sports world.
Simply put, if you can say that you hung out with Derek Jeter in your lifetime, people are going to want to shake your hand immediately and Beilein is now a member of that exclusive club.
