MRI coming for Ben Roethlisberger

During Sunday’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Rams, star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a scary leg injury that forced him to come out of the game.

Roethlisberger was in obvious pain after being hit low and he did not return to the game.

While the exact injury has yet to be announced by the Steelers, Roethlisberger is set to undergo an MRI on Sunday night. The MRI will determine the severity of the injury, but Pro Football Talk reports the Steelers are hopeful Roethlisberger’s ACL is still intact.

Pittsburgh was able to hold off the Rams without Roethlisberger on the field and they may be forced to play at least one additional game without him thanks to a short week.

The Steelers return to the field on Thursday night against the division rival Baltimore Ravens.

We will continue to monitor Roethlisberger’s health throughout the week.
