Belmont student does 6-hour cover of Kanye’s discography

There are people who love recording star Kanye West, and then there are people who LOOOOOOOOVE recording star Kanye West. One of the latter just happens to be Belmont University student Jacob Brody, though he told USA TODAY the opposite, saying that he wasn’t a huge hip-hop fan.

“I honestly (didn’t enjoy) it until about three years ago” Brody says.

It just so happens that after hearing his sister play West’s hit single “Power,” he undertook a project of an epic nature.

A guitarist who names Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison and others as his heroes, Brody recorded himself performing every single song from West’s solo career. Nearly seven hours later, we have a piece of art that is, for lack of better word, incredible.

Brody’s work can be seen here and if any of you devoted readers know anyone associated with the Grammys, this young man needs at least a special award for what he’s done. Maybe a Jay-Z electric guitar marathon is next?
