Every college football fan has a soft spot in their heart for the Appalachian State Mountaineers, known to most as the scrappy little Sun Belt squad that could.
Except, App State was more than that this year in going 11-2 (7-1 Sun Belt) en route to beating Ohio in the Camellia Bowl and, oddly enough, had the best finish out of any Division I school in the state! Thus, it’s only fitting that the university posted the following tweet to troll its in-state rivals.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Out of all the FBS schools in the Tar Heel State, the Mountaineers had the best overall record and finish.
Considering how all of the publicity essentially went to UNC this year before the Tar Heels got destroyed by an injury-riddled Baylor team in the Russell Athletic Bowl, Duke needed overtime to beat Indiana and N.C. State got crushed by Mississippi State in the Belk Bowl, it’s safe to say that the Mountaineers have won all of the bragging rights until the start of summer camp, at least.
