The Michigan Wolverines will battle conference foe Penn State without leading scorer Caris LeVert, who sustained a lower leg injury earlier the week.
“Caris will miss today’s game and his future status will be determined on a day-to-day basis,” said Michigan head coach John Beilein in the release. “We hope to know more this upcoming week as he continues with his treatment.”
The injury is cause for concern. LeVert has already battled two stress fractures in his foot, missing considerable time. When healthy, the lanky combo guard, is an NBA talent.
This year he’s averaging 17.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists per contest. Without him, the Wolverines perimeter attack thins–something a team lacking inside scoring, can’t afford.
