Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back C.J. Prosise took advantage of a great opportunity this season and turned himself into one of the top running backs in the nation. Now, Prosise is looking to build off of that success by taking his talents to the next level.
Prosise took to social media on Saturday to announce he will enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
“After a lot of thought and reflection, I have decided to forego my remaining eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft,” Prosise wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to Notre Dame, the coaches, staff, faculty and fans. I couldn’t have asked for a better university to play for, it’s been an honor to have played with Team 127 and I’m glad to have had the opportunity. I look forward to what lies ahead. Thank you, Go Irish!!!”
Prosise finished his 2015 campaign with 1,032 yards and 11 touchdowns.
An ankle injury cut short his collegiate career and kept him from participating in the Fiesta Bowl, but he has to be proud of the way he stepped up and proved to be a leader for the Fighting Irish.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Prosise, but he should certainly expect to be drafted in the mid rounds.
