Ohio State is coming off a big win against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl and afterward, linebacker Raekwon McMillan had nothing but good things to say about co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Luke Fickell.
In a post on his Instagram, McMillan said that Fickell was “not just a coach, but a life changer.”
“Why would you choose Ohio State ?” Because that man in the middle is not only a coach but a life changer, and I trust him with every second of my near future. Thank you Coach Fick. God has gifted you with the ability to see good in those who have been told all their life that they would never amount to anything. Also humbled those who have been given much to be able to understand the other side. You brought a group of guys who had nothing in common together and created a bond that couldn’t be broken. You are truly a blessing #LBU Fiesta Bowl Champions RIP Pops , I love you. This one was for you! The simple minded won’t understand, it’s deeper than football.
That’s some high praise from McMillan, who came to Columbus as a five-star recruit from southern Georgia in 2014 and has since turned into quite the prospect himself. In two years under Fickell’s tutelage, McMillan has 173 tackles, four sacks and an interception.
Needless to say, if he keeps playing at such a level next year, he could easily push himself into the NFL Draft conversation.
