Ezekiel Elliott’s father praises Urban Meyer

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ season has come to an end and star running back Ezekiel Elliott has announced that he will enter the 2016 NFL Draft. He has meant a lot to the school over the past couple of years and will be missed in a big way. Elliott’s father took to his Twitter account following the Fiesta Bowl to sing head coach Urban Meyer’s praises.

Elliott certainly flourished with the Buckeyes and there is no surprise that his dad is happy with the job that Meyer did. There were some comments from Elliott earlier this year about the coaching staff that weren’t very good, but he recanted those comments and apologized for them.

Throughout his three-year career with Ohio State, Elliott ended up carrying the football 592 times for 3,961 yards and 43 touchdown. He also caught 58 passes for 449 yards and a touchdown. Ohio State’s offense would not have been nearly as dangerous as it was without Elliott over the past couple years.

Ohio State was also able to get a championship win for Elliott during his career. They made a huge run at the end of last season to win the title, despite many not giving them much of a chance. Elliott was a big part of that and immediately became a hero in Columbus.

All of that being said, Elliott’s father did a very classy thing by making a plug for Meyer and the Buckeyes and it could very well help persuade other parents down the road.
