Everyone knows that the Philadelphia 76ers are a complete mess both on and off the court, but no one expects a player’s dad to get on the team’s case.
That’s apparently what happened during the team’s blowout loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
While sitting behind the 76er’s bench, the father of Jahlil Okafor decided to get on the case of Philadelphia coach Brett Brown. According to Michael Weber, who was also in attendance, Okafor eventually had to turn around and silence his dad.
It’s understandable that you’d get upset when your son’s team isn’t very good, but to put the blame on a coach who has been put in a terrible situation isn’t right. Sure, fans harass coaches all the time, but don’t do it if you’re a player’s parent.
One has to wonder if the team eventually tells Okafor to make sure his dad cuts it out, or he risks not being able to sit near the bench.
