Class of 2016 four-star wide receiver Cavin Ridley has de-committed from South Carolina just two days after committing to the university. Ridley, who currently plays at Deerfield Beach High School in the Miami area and whose older brother Calvin is currently a freshman at Alabama, posted the following message on Twitter.

It’s hard to argue with Ridley’s reasoning. South Carolina did just undergo a major coaching change in the hiring of Will Muschamp, and to commit to any program in the hyper-competitive SEC immediately makes competing for a national championship ten times as hard as it already is, if not more. Thus, perhaps he wants to see who else Muschamp brings in or how the program takes shape in the initial months of Muschamp’s reign.
On top of South Carolina, Ridley also has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Louisville, Florida State and others. With National Signing Day in the not too distant future, here’s hoping that he can make a decision he is comfortable with soon.
