Clemson takes on Alabama a week from today in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, and was given a bit of a scare in the Orange Bowl when star defensive end Shaq Lawson left the game with a knee injury in the first quarter.
Thus, Tigers fans will be happy to hear that Dabo Swinney is encouraged by Lawson’s progress, according to a tweet from Dan Wolken of USA Today.
Dabo on Shaq Lawson: “So far so good. I think the prognosis is good at this point.” Will evaluate him today at practice.

A redshirt junior, Lawson has been Clemson’s best pass-rusher this season and had 55 tackles with 10.5 sacks in 2015. He also led the nation with 22.5 tackles for a loss. If he’s healthy enough to play next week, Clemson’s chances of slowing down Alabama instantly increase.
