LaTech announces date with LSU as Tigers complete 2018 schedule

The LSU Tigers are known for playing programs within the state to be able to gain more revenue from fans of those teams, which makes it easier for them to travel to. For the 2018 season, they have a matchup with one of the better teams in the Sun Belt conference as Louisiana Tech has just announced a matchup with the Tigers for that season.

The Bulldogs announced via press release on Thursday that they will be taking on the Tigers in Baton Rouge on October 20. This will be the 20th meeting between the schools and the Tigers lead the series 18-1.

The Bulldogs were sure to remind everyone of that on win over the Tigers by noting in their release that “Tech remains the only public school in Louisiana to have defeated LSU in football.”

The Tigers commented on their matchup with the Bulldogs.

“We want to continue to schedule teams from our state when possible, which allows resources to remain in the state and the fans in Louisiana to experience the best venue in the country, Tiger Stadium,” LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said in a statement.

The Tigers will also play Miami (September 1), Southeastern Louisiana (September 8), and Rice (November 17) to round out their non-conference schedule in 2018.
