Texas fans drank $1.8 million of beer at 2015 football games

There’s two things that Texans love: football and beer, and not necessarily in that order. Put the two in the same environment together, and residents of the Lone Star State are going to have some fun.

Thus, with the University of Texas allowing alcohol sales at Darrell K. Royal Stadium for the first time in 2015, it wasn’t at all a surprise when a report from Benjamin Wermund of The Houston Chronicle stated Longhorns fans spent $1.8 million on beer alone at Texas home games in 2015.

Per Wermund’s report, the beer of choice was Miller Lite (27.9 percent) and that product also was second in sales behind water. Also making the cut was Coors Light (24.5 percent) and Bud Light (10.3 percent). In terms of hard liquor, that only accounted for 7.1 percent of sales.

Party on, Texas fans. The way your team has performed the past few years, you certainly deserve it!
