Ed Orgeron not offered DC job at Mississippi State, wants to stay at LSU

Ed Orgeron’s name has come up in many different places as a possible candidate for head coaching and defensive coordinator positions. One big rumor was that he was possibly going to leave LSU and take the defensive coordinator job at Mississippi State under Dan Mullen.

However, it seems as though Orgeron isn’t going anywhere in the near future.

FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman reported that Mississippi State never offered Orgeron the position and that he wants to stay with LSU for as long as possible.

Am told MissState & Dan Mullen did NOT offer Ed Orgeron the MSU DC job. It never got that far. Orgeron really wants to remain an #LSU Tiger.

Orgeron has spent most of his career in the SEC, having stints at Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee throughout his time as a coach. He has also served as interim head coach at USC and worked at Miami and Syracuse in the early part of his career.

I’m sure many Tiger fans will be happy to hear that their defensive line coach isn’t going anywhere for at least one more season.
