Ron Dugans leaving USF for Miami

-

New Miami coach Mark Richt is nearly done assembling his staff, and the latest addition comes from up the road in Tampa.

According to tweets from SI’s Thayer Evans and Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, South Florida wide receivers coach Ron Dugans will take on the same position at The U.

Dugans, 38, has been at South Florida the past two seasons and also has coaching experience at Louisville and Georgia Southern. He played wide receiver himself at Florida State, is from Tallahassee and played three NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Needless to say, it’s looking like Richt is trying to assemble a staff full of Miami guys and based on that, the ‘Canes could easily be back in action sooner rather than later after years of futility.
